Here is a State of the Art Old School 26 inch wheelset.
This is the First version of the Cane Creek Wam super-hoops with T
itanium
spokes.
The wheelset weighs 1882 grams a pair.
The concept behind these radical-looking wheels is a straight-spoke design that enables Cane Creek, a custom, one-at-a-time wheel builders to double the amount of spoke tension of the finished product.
The Cane Creek rims are especially designed to handle the stress.
the rear rim is also offset to insure that all spokes have equal tension.
Trick, high-flange hubs are drilled to accept nylon locking nuts instead of typical spoke nipples. The tiny stainless steel nuts can handle more tension without stripping threads or rounding the flats.
A wrench is included with each set.
Riding the Cane Creek WAM wheels is a pleasant surprise.
They felt fast, very fast and are known to
remained perfectly true.
You can be sure that the inner workings of the hubs will hold up.
The freehub is a
Shimano Deore XT and the rest are adjustable sealed cartridge bearings
Both have 28 spokes per wheel, and they come with disc-brake Hubs
Disc Brake Rotor Bolt Pattern on the Front is a standard 6 Bolt
Disc Brake Rotor Bolt Pattern on the Rear is a "combo" 4 Bolt (Coda) & a standard 6 Bolt Pattern
